Bajaj Auto and its Pulsar brand added another feather to their cap and have given their fans lots of reasons for celebrations. Though biking enthusiasts in India are waiting eagerly for the launch of the new generation Pulsar bikes, the current range of Pulsar bikes are grabbing headlines in the international arena, for the right reasons also. The Pulsar series has recently won two immensely prestigious awards and has been recognized as the best motorcycle in the year 2011 in the Indonesian market in the sports bike category for the 125-150cc and the 151-250cc segments. Along with this, came the IMOTY (Indonesian Motorcycle of the year) recognition.
The award for the best sports bike in the 125-150cc category was awarded to Bajaj Pulsar 135LS whereas theBajaj Pulsar 220 won the same in the 151-250cc category. The Bajaj Pulsar 135LS triumphed in a field that included Yamaha Byson and Honda CBR150R whereas the Pulsar 220 beat the likes of Yamaha ScorpioZ (225cc), Minerva Migelli 250 and Honda CBR250R to win the award.
Bajaj Auto authorities in India have expressed satisfaction at this achievement and said that the award proved the increasing acceptance of the motor used in the Pulsar motorcycles and that it had become the number one choice of Indonesians. Further, the Bajaj Pulsar bikes were found attractive by citizens of Indonesia due to the features of being stylish, sporty, fuel efficient, lightweight, competitively priced and being easier to ride. This came as an ideal gift for the Indonesian subsidiary of Bajaj Auto that was celebrating the fifth year of existence in the present year.
The domination of Pulsar in the international market is reflected by these awards. Success in Indonesia is considered a key factor by all biking companies as the market is considered to be very competitive and oriented towards high technology. It is the third largest bike market worldwide following the Chinese and Indian markets.
