Best bikes expected at the Delhi Auto Expo

The 11th edition of the Delhi Auto Expo is scheduled to start on 5th January and continue till 11th January, though it will open for the general public only from the 7th. Pragati Maidan has been retained as the venue.
Special impetus is given this year on technological enhancements in the field of environment, fuel efficiency and safety.
In this article, we take a look at some of the best bikes that are going to steal the show at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012.

KTM Duke 200:

The Indian bike maker Bajaj Auto has joined hands with Austrian bike maker KTM. Bajaj is marketing the Duke series of bikes in India and the KTM Duke 200 is expected to be showcased in the Delhi Auto Expo. The bike has been priced between Rs.1.25 lakh and Rs.1.31 lakh.  The bike is expected to be packed with impressive power of 26Bhp at 10,000rpm and will have a torque of 20Nm at 8,000rpm.  The bike is expected to provide tough competition to the Yamaha R15 and the Honda CBR250R.

Suzuki Access 125:

This 125cc scooter from Suzuki is also set to make its impact as well. Having been recently launched, the scooter is receiving such heavy bookings that the waiting period for getting the scooter has been extended by more than 3 months. This has prompted Suzuki to go for an increase in production to cope with the demand.

Triumph Motorcycles:

Triumph is expected to come out with a complete range at the Delhi Auto Expo. Bikes that are going to be showcased would include the Expo-Bonneville, Street Triple, Speed Triple, Daytona 675, Tiger 800XC, Rocket III and Triumph Storm. All these bikes are coming in using its CKD Route. Therefore, it is expected that these bikes will be competitively priced.

Harley Davidson:

Harley Davidson is not only topping the premium motor biking segment in India, it is also making a lifestyle statement. The company is not only going to showcase its best bikes, but is also expected to come out with around 5000 of its accessories and parts.

The other launches expected in the two wheeler segment include:

  • The latest variant of Bajaj Pulsar.
  • Ducati Monster 795.
  • A motorcycle model from Mahindra Two wheelers.
  • Improved variants of TVS Apache.
  • Two scooters from Yamaha.
  • Suzuki GW250.
  • A model from Victory Motorcycles.
